Michael Wells is a Canterbury based sculptor.

After dairy farming for 30+ years Michael has turned his hand to the work he enjoyed doing in his downtime, “making stuff with steel”.

Fixing things on the farm, (remembering we had those ‘Earthquakes’ too), reinforced that Kiwi ability to create with ‘what you have lying around’.

When Michael isn’t in the shed working with the welder, he is on the golf course, on his way to the golf course, or on his way back from the golf course!

Or he’s on the lawnmower… Michael really loves his lawns.

He also loves his wife (and adult family).

Michael’s Philosophy:

“sculptures enhance a garden and a garden enhances sculptures”.
